DO EYE CREAMS REALLY WORK?
There are two types of people in the world, those who believe that our delicate under-eye area should be treated and taken care of with specialized formulas, and those who believe that these eye creams are nothing more than moisturizers labelled as fancy under-eye treatments and does nothing more than what we call a “Placebo effect”.
How about we address both of them? Or why this significant concern has not been properly understood till now, and so many of us still get confused about whether we should really buy an eye cream and, if yes, why we need it?
Well, it’s not as complicated as it seems, but to get all our questions answered, we need to understand the skin issues and concerns mainly related to the skin around our eyes.
The skin around our eye ages faster than the rest of our face because it is the thinnest as compared to the skin on other parts of our face, and this is what makes it the most vulnerable to external aggressors such as UV rays and due to being so thin, it has the least amount of elasticity and moisture and can dry out more quickly, these concerns in specific lead us to have different issues that are related to our eye area.
One of the major concerns is fine lines and wrinkles, followed by dark circles, lack of firmness, and under-eye bags. But, of course, these are not just the only concerns; there are a lot more as well. But the reason to mention these concerns in specific was to make you all understand that do we really need an eye cream, or is your regular moisturizer more than enough to take care of these issues?
The key is to understand the concern. If your under-eye area is just a little dry and you think that it can lead you to have fine lines and wrinkles in future, then you just need to grab your moisturizer suitable to your skin type, apply it under your eyes, and you’re good to go. But this can be done if you are young and haven’t yet developed wrinkles, but if this makes you think that you can treat wrinkles with a regular moisturizer, then you, my dear, are not right at all.
Using a moisturizer to avoid such concerns is entirely acceptable, and in fact, for younger people, this is what is recommended. But people who are old enough to have already developed wrinkles under their eyes, and regardless of your age, if you have dark circles, or if you have these puffy eyes every day, then it is high time for you to integrate an effective eye cream in your skin-care routine.
We must understand that not everything can be treated with a regular moisturizer, and not everyone needs a fancy formula to cure something that’s not much of a deal. So first, understand your skin concerns and then treat accordingly. Finally, and most importantly, no beauty product can compensate for the health benefits of better sleep and complete hydration. So, make sure to sleep well and stay hydrated!
Here’s the list of our top-rated eye creams that can help you fake a full night’s sleep and can get you rid of those under-eye bags, which you are done carrying every day at work!

EYE PATCHES
Lately, I’ve noticed eye patches popping up everywhere, especially for people trying to deal with dark circles, puffiness, or that dry, crepey feeling under the eyes. Do they make a difference? From my experience, they can, if you’re realistic about what they’re meant to do. Most under-eye patches are designed to deliver a quick boost of hydration, which helps smooth the look of fine lines and make the area appear brighter and more refreshed. They’re not magic, but they can make you look a lot more awake after a long night.
The main purpose of eye patches is targeted treatment. Because the skin under your eyes is thinner and more delicate, it loses moisture quickly and shows signs of fatigue faster than the rest of your face. Most hydrogel or collagen eye masks are made to drench the under-eye area with moisture, calm swelling, and help the skin look fresher for a while, which is sometimes all you really need. Think of them as a short, focused skincare session just for your under-eyes.
If you’re expecting permanent wrinkle removal in 15 minutes, you might be disappointed. But if you want smoother makeup applications, less visible puffiness, and a brighter-looking under-eye area before work or an event, they absolutely earn their place in your routine. Sometimes, a little cooling patch and a cup of coffee can fix more than you think, at least on the surface.
OUR TOP FAVOURITE EYE PATCHES:
● Mediheal Retinol Collagen Under Eye Patches:

I’ll be honest, the skin under my eyes was the first place I noticed fine lines creeping in, which is why the these Under Eye Patches caught my attention. These Korean hydrogel eye pads are mainly focused on smoothing fine lines and wrinkles thanks to the collagen, while retinol helps keep the area looking firm and refreshed without feeling harsh. The gel texture feels nourishing and comfortable on the skin, not sticky or irritating, and the sealing cap with the little spatula is actually practical (no digging fingers into the jar). If your concealer has started settling where it shouldn’t, this might be the quiet fix your under-eyes have been asking for.
● COSRX Advanced Snail Hydrogel Eye Patch:

Dry, tight under-eyes can make you look more tired than you feel, and that’s where these COSRX eye patches really stand out. These gel serum eye patches are mainly focused on deep hydration, making them a great choice for anyone dealing with a dry under-eye area, while also helping with puffiness and softening the look of fine lines. The hydrogel texture sits comfortably on the skin and leaves it feeling refreshed and smooth, not overloaded, and the fact that it’s paraben-free is a bonus for sensitive skin. If your under-eyes are constantly asking for water, this is basically a tall glass of it, simple as that.
● PLANTIFIQUE Gold Eye Patches:

Some mornings your under-eyes give away exactly how little sleep you got, and that’s when these eye patches can come in handy. These gold under-eye masks are made to help with puffiness and dark circles while also adding a subtle brightening effect, so the area looks fresher and less dull.
